B-52 Crash Site
This is a somber memorial to the crash of a B-52 bomber during training maneuvers in January of 1963. All but two crewmembers perished, and those two spent a cold night in a blizzard on this remote mountain before being discovered. The site and remaining wreckage have been preserved to honor the men aboard the flight. Each January a group of snowmobilers ride to the site and a memorial takes place. Because of several inconsiderate individuals removing wreckage from the site to sell on the internet little is left to see except for a few larger pieces, the tail, portions of the fuselage and landing gear.
